7 Days // 6 Nights
THE NORTHERN THAILAND EXPERIENCE
CHIANG MAI // SONGKRAN // CHIANG RAI
APRIL 11-17, 2021
You’ll arrive at Chiang Mai International airport (CNX) and transfer to your exquisite deluxe hotel accommodations. Enjoy some leisure time this afternoon on a self guided tour, exploring the “new city ” in all its grandeur. Chiang Mai is one of the only cities in Thailand where you can experience the duality of today’s Thai culture. With ancient pagodas and intricate beautiful temples next to modern shops, boutique hotels, to the famous, colorful night markets. This evening let’s connect for a meet and greet before we savor a Khantoke Dinner and enjoy the Traditional Lanna performance. If we have time, we’ll check out The Sunday Walking Street. This is one of the most popular shopping experiences in Chiang Mai. A huge variety of art, handcrafts, music and food, the Sunday Walking Street is the spirit of Northern Thailand.
Rise and Shine! After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, In the afternoon we’ll visit one of the most famous temples in Chiang Mai, Doi Suthep. From the top of Doi Suthep, you’ll be able to take in the panoramic views of the town below. Once the sun sets, the city of Chiang Mai lights up! You’ll visit one of the many colorful night markets immersing yourself in the local cuisine. Fill up on khao soi (a tangy, spicy curry soup), lemongrass-stuffed rotisserie chicken, or if you’re feeling adventurous, try boat noodles, a popular pho-like street food with an intense, pork blood broth.
Jet lag is a real thing, so today we’re going to give you a much needed day to rest. Enjoy the breakfast buffet at the hotel and explore Chiang Mai at your leisure. Maybe take a stroll through Old City, or head to the posh area of Nimman and do some serious shopping, or better yet, relax and indulge in getting a much needed Thai massage. Whatever you decide to do, i’m sure you’ll enjoy every moment of it!
After breakfast, we will be taking a ride through the countryside to Chiang Rai and explore the infamous Golden Triangle, once the center of opium production and trade in SouthEast Asia. Golden Triangle is the point at which Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos meet, and where the Mekong River flows into the Ruak River. After a bit of this history, sit down and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Once we’re down eating, we’ll visit the most iconic and beautiful temple in Northern Thailand, Wat Rong Khun, also known as the White Temple. The gleaming pure white, architectural marvel over the glassy waters of the adjacent pond reflects a mirror image of the White temple’s brilliance. As dusk sets upon us, we’ll end our day with dinner at sunset overlooking the gorgeous oolong tea plantation at the amazing Singha Park.
